Ingredients
  

Bread:

  • 1 loaf French bread

Garlic Butter Spread:

  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Alfredo Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings:

  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes additional parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Garlic Bread:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet, cut sides up.
  • In a bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread this garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the bread is lightly toasted.

Cook the Chicken:

  • While the bread is toasting, season the chicken with olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked.
  • Once done, remove from heat, let it rest for a few minutes, then dice into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add heavy cream, stirring continuously.
  • Mix in grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Continue to stir until the sauce thickens, approximately 5 minutes.

Assemble the Dish:

  • Remove the toasted garlic bread from the oven.
  • Spread a layer of Alfredo sauce over each half.
  • Distribute the diced chicken evenly over the sauce.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken.
  • For added heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired.

Bake:

  • Return the assembled bread to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve:

  • Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
  • Slice into pieces and serve warm.
